This Privacy Policy explains how ScottyHub ("we", "us", "the platform") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our website and services, including the community feed, Earn Center, wallet (COPS balance), bot marketplace, AI tools, and related features.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: username, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your plain-text password). If you sign up with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.

Profile content: anything you choose to add, such as a bio, avatar, cover photo, and social links.

Activity data: posts, comments, likes, follows, messages, task completions, spin-wheel history, referral activity, and marketplace listings/purchases you make.

Wallet and transaction data: your COPS balance, points balance, transaction history, and withdrawal requests (including the payout method and account details you provide, e.g. mobile money number).

Uploaded media: images, videos, or audio files you upload for posts, news articles, or your profile.

Technical data: IP address, device/browser type, and general usage logs, collected automatically for security and abuse prevention.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account, and verify your identity via email OTP.
To operate core features: the community feed, Earn Center (tasks, spin wheel, referrals), wallet and withdrawals, and the bot marketplace.
To process withdrawal requests and prevent fraud, duplicate accounts, or abuse of referral/earning features.
To send you account-related emails (verification codes, password resets, important notifications).
To display relevant ads through Google AdSense and similar advertising partners, which may use cookies to personalize ads (see Section 5).
To enforce our Terms of Service and keep the platform safe.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these situations:

Public content: your username, avatar, posts, and public profile info are visible to other users by design.
Service providers: we use third-party infrastructure to run the platform, including cloud hosting, media storage/CDN for uploaded files, and email delivery for verification/reset codes.
Advertising partners: if ads are shown on the platform, ad providers such as Google may collect data via cookies as described in their own privacy policies.
Legal requirements: if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ScottyHub, our users, or the public.

4. Your Wallet & Financial Data

COPS is an in-platform balance earned through tasks, referrals, and marketplace sales, and redeemable via withdrawal requests. We retain transaction and withdrawal records as required for financial accountability and fraud prevention. We do not store full payment card numbers or banking credentials — payout account details you submit (e.g. mobile money number) are used solely to process your withdrawal.

5. Cookies & Advertising

We use essential cookies/local storage to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. If ScottyHub displays third-party ads (e.g. via Google AdSense), those partners may set their own cookies to serve relevant ads and measure performance. You can control cookie behavior through your browser settings, and manage ad personalization through Google Ads Settings.

6. Data Retention & Security

We retain account and transaction data for as long as your account is active, and as needed to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plain text. We use industry-standard measures (encrypted connections, access controls, rate limiting) to protect your data, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

You can review and update your profile information at any time from your account settings.
You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us (see Section 9).
You can opt out of non-essential emails.

8. Children's Privacy

ScottyHub is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
